Collection Two . The Estate
This medal was given to Francis for his back catalog of artistic work, as presented by the Ivy Gallery after he moved to the city to fully take on his career as an artist.
It is awarded by the ever-elusive Critic's Circle, but was presented to Francis by Ivy at one of her famed parties.
The medal is purposefully cheap, consisting of plastic painted gold, which hangs from a shoelace. The Critic's Circle states that this bolsters their belief that great art that is made from nothing, and therefore is worth nothing. Nevertheless, Francis' early work was sold for a considerable amount, with many pieces bought from Ivy by members of the Circle.
