The tape recorder used by Lina Rae at home as a child to practice and listen back to her voice, as part of her constant attempt to perfect her delivery.

When she moved out on her own and into the country home of her new publisher, she used the new recorder that was left there for her. Still, she often returned to this one for her personal recordings. Although her voice had changed by then, due to maturity and cigarettes, she was still used to the sound produced by this model.
