Whiteout on Solid Color Paperboard

The closest Francis ever came to trying to communicate via symbol or text, he devised a system in which he would convey a single word or idea through a pattern of dashes arranged on the page. He said that if you could use your two-eyed vision to perceive the dashes floating just above the solid color of the paperboard and crossing paths with each other, then a rudimentary version of his inter-dimensional vision could be seen by the naked eye. It's like a four-dimensional magic eye that's nearly impossible to see, but it still looks nice on the page anyway.
